Can you believe we have reached the last quarter of the year!?! This year has been busy but I am shocked this is October and fall weather has hit Central Illinois.
The first image is what a hot air ballon ride above Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta looks like on opening weekend. I was lucky enough a few years ago to be offered a ride during the second wave on Sunday morning, no way I was going to say no to that offer! You obtain a better perspective on the actual 'pilot' portion of a hot air balloon team, yes I can say they actually fly the aircraft - hard to believe but the pilots do fly between locations. I would highly recommend the Balloon Fiesta to anyone who enjoys hot air balloons, it's something you will never forget - it's actually organized chaos but in a fun way. Our second image this month is from Bond Falls in Pauding MI, located in the Western Upper Penisula of Michigan. This image shows the first cascade (8-10ft drop) above the actual falls. For those who like waterfalls, this is one that is easy to reach, with short hikes from a couple of different parking areas above and below the falls.
