Tim Lester Images Monthly Update
The final two months of the year are here - this past week has felt like winter has begun. Hopefully fall will return for a few weeks but time will tell. Looks like the last few months are going to be busy, so not much time to relax.
The first image is a little fall colors from Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado - these are the tallest sand dunes in North America. While a large sand dune is one feature, the altitude ranges from 7500 feet to 13500 feet and covers 149,000 acres between the National Park and National Preserve. So you can experience all the seasons while enjoying the soft sand - be careful in the summer as the sand can reach 150 degrees F in the middle of the day.
Our second image this month is Jared Mees, the 2017 American Flat Track Twins champion. Jared was the class of the field this season with 17 top three finishes - out of 18 races. He set a new record for the season finishing in the top three, besting Scott Park and Ricky Graham who jointly held the record at 16. If Jared's performance was not enough, his Indian Motorcycle team mates, called the Indian Wrecking Crew, combined to win 14 of the 18 races with six races the three riders finishing in the top three spots. Next season should be interesting as other teams look for ways to beat the Indian team.
