Monthly_Update Message
Happy 2023! Wishing you a fruitful year, whatever that means to each and every one of my faithful readers. The past year was a rollercoaster ride from myself and this year already appears to be very busy, looking forward to any and all challenges that come my way. This will be the 14th year producing this desktop calendars, hopefully long time subscribers have enjoyed the images and stories.
We will be continue with the same format we ended the year with, one image will be landscape related and the other will be sports or wildlife. These will be sized for standard/older computer screens and tablets (4:3 ratio), the wide image will be sized for newer high definition displays (16:9 ratio) and finally an image for mobile phones, the mobile phone image will only be supplied as one of the two images based on what I feel looks best. If you did not know, the main two images are posted on my social media channels but without the information contained in this message. If you have any ideas you would like to see, please let me know.
First image to start this year is from a few weeks ago, a common subject after any visit to Maine - Nubble Light in York Maine. Couple of weeks ago I was in the area and remembered they have lights that are only lit for the holiday season. Unlike most home owners, these lights remain on the structures year round but are only illuminated during the holiday season. Was hoping for snow on the island but none was to be found, the reflection I was able to capture makes up for the lack of snow. Our mobile image is based on this image. Our second image was captured last February along the Mississippi River. Generally the first wildlife image of the year is an American Bald Eagle but this year I decided to go with a young bird for the beginning of the year, based on the beak color this Bald Eagle is less than 1 year old and getting to experience it's first winter. Obviously the parents trained this youngster with some good fishing tips. Camera Data: 800mm 1/1600 sec F9 ISO1600
Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.
For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straight forward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.
Apple iOS Downloads - click the Mobile Phone link to open the image:
Without 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold on the image, select Save Image
With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image
