We have just completed the shortest month available on the calendar, hopefully you did not blink! Instead of taking about negative or grim outlooks about the weather or some other topic, let's find some good old fun news. Have you ever heard of the website https://thegoodnewshub.com/   Here are a  couple of stories that I enjoyed:

Airbus A380 completes test flight using 100% cooking oil - https://thegoodnewshub.com/environment/a380-completes-test-flight-using-100-percent-cooking-oil/

London skyscrapers to switch lights off at night to save energy - https://thegoodnewshub.com/environment/london-skyscrapers-put-out-lights/

Heinz searches for man who survived a month at sea on ketchup – so they can give him a free boat -  https://thegoodnewshub.com/uncategorized/heinz-searches-for-man-who-survived-a-month-at-sea-on-ketchup-so-they-can-give-him-a-free-boat/

Hope you have at least a small smile or see something good from one of the stories.

The first image this month is from Oklahoma City Memorial five years ago this month, it was on the return home from a spring trip with the family, out west to Utah and Arizona. Since this was shortly after sunrise, there was not much traffic, so I was able to stand in the middle of the road to capture both ends of the memorial along with the sun. The trick was getting everything setup and then wait for the sun to rise high enough to reach the near side wall bottom edge, while moving out of the road when a car came toward me. Have not shown a black and white calendar for a while, so I thought this memorial was a good candidate.  Camera Data: 70mm 1/100 sec F32 ISO200

This Friday is the official start of Daytona Bike Week 2023, so how about the first big motorcycle race of the year - Daytona 200. Last year was my first visit to the 200 race, which was a shock to my system going from winter in the Midwest to what feels like summer in Florida. While some people might think that sounds great, I recall it rained cats and dogs day after day including the morning this image was taken. Maybe someone high above us is a motorcycle roadracing fan, the track dried up just in time for the main races. The bikes are not allowed to race at Daytona in wet conditions since the rain tires will not work properly on the banking.  Camera Data: 400mm 1/2000 sec F11 ISO800

Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.

For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straight forward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.
Apple iOS Downloads - click the Mobile Phone link to open the image:
Without 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold on the image, select Save Image
With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image
