Monthly_Update Message
Hoping everyone is doing well as we have entered the second half of 2023, my friends in Canada and US are dealing with poor air quality due to forest fires, primarily in Canada. Most of the Midwest is dealing with low rainfall levels, so hopefully we do not have any issues with fires due to the dry conditions - not a good combination was we are looking at Fourth of July in a few days, let's hope everyone is sensible in their celebrations. Those people who follow me on Social Media have seen a large amount of motorcycle racing images, current contracts have me traveling around the country for a couple of different series and keeping me very busy every weekend. Hopefully I will be able to see some firework shows this year and give me a new moving object to capture images of - if you are in the US, get out to your local fireworks and enjoy the show.
To add some color to your desktop this month, we will give you a mid-July bloom of the Lemon Queen Sunflower, this particular grouping was sitting next to a rural road and I had to stop to capture the wonderful colors. While this plant is not the large sunflower most people think of, it's a wonderful little plant that attracts many different bugs and birds while in bloom. Camera Data: 20mm 1/500 sec F4 ISO200
Let's celebrate the United States Independence Day all month long with this fireworks image. This was captured in Peoria IL, upstream from the downtown launch location. Every year I attempt to find a different location to capture the Red, White and Boom Fireworks. Do you have a favorite fireworks that you enjoy, let me know so I can add it to my list of displays I need to capture. This is also our mobile download image this month for your mobile phone. Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.
For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straight forward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.
Apple iOS Downloads - click the Mobile Phone link to open the image:
Without 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold on the image, select Save Image
With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image
