I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, appears COVID is making another round in the US and various flu bugs have been showing up also. Luckily I have been able to avoid both so far, which is good as last month was very busy for me. Able to attend four different motorsports events, located in four different states plus visit some other locations for wildlife and landscape images. Based on my traveling, appears fall colors are going to be mixed this year as trees are already dropping leaves or producing muted colors - hopefully some vivid colors present themselves before all the trees are barren. Racing season is nearly complete and ice hockey season is upon us, so a change of photography views will be a nice change for a few months.

Our first image this month will continue the theme of reflection from last month, this one being from Schwabacher Landing, near Grand Teton National Park, with a small branch section of the Snake River providing a nice mirror. If you look closely at the left side of the image, breaking up the reflection of the Teton mountain range, you will see the downstream section of a beaver dam. Luckily the beavers in this section stopped swimming around shortly before sunrise, so I was able to capture this image with calm water. For those long-time readers of my monthly update messages, back in October of 2018 I presented an image of a bull moose with the Teton mountains reflected in the water, close to this same location, just further downstream a few hundred yards. The mobile phone image is based on this view. Camera Data: 20mm 1/5 sec F10 ISO200

For the second image this month, we will stay with the reflection theme but not nearly as clear due to the wind and my feathered friend searching for food. This is a Great Blue Heron from Spring Lake near Manito Illinois. I had plenty of patience on this day, spending about one-hour creating images of this bird but never obtaining an image of a meal capture nor an attempt - I was able to observe the bird taking a bath along with Mute Swans doing the same. A very nice relaxing afternoon, even if the temperatures were in the low 90's. Camera Data: 800mm 1/1250 sec F8 ISO1600

Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device, and change the background as needed for your OS.

For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straightforward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.
Apple iOS Downloads - click the Mobile Phone link to open the image:
Without 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold on the image, select Save Image
With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image

If anyone has problems or questions with their mobile device, let me know and I will try to assist.
