Was 2023 all that you expected? Can you believe we are entering December and nearing the start of 2024? This year was full of highs and lows for me, I can say a larger number of highs and a few lows and as I look back at the year in photos, there are numerous trips that I have yet to truly review images. Honestly, this is not abnormal, personal photography trips typically are pushed to the side and one day I will have enough material to spend a month reviewing and processing images. Overall I am happy with my results from 2023 and look forward to producing even better images in 2024 for my clients.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and if you need any last-minute gift ideas or have any special requests, send me a message and I will see how I can assist you.

The first image this month was captured one year ago near York, Maine, one of my favorite locations and lighthouse - Nubble Light. During my trip last year, I was hoping for snow but Mother Nature was not cooperative on this particular trip - maybe next time. Some readers will recognize this image, last January there was a similar capture but that was captured around sunset and this image was 30 minutes later, so the lights on the buildings are easily seen in the darker conditions. You may notice, there is also a reflection theme continued from the past few months and this is our Mobile Phone image this month. Camera Data: 27mm 1/13 sec F8 ISO800

Back in October, PBS presented a film by Ken Burns titled The American Buffalo. According to the PBS website, the film is "The biography of an improbable, shaggy beast that has found itself at the center of many of the country's most mythic and heartbreaking tales." While I have read numerous accounts of bison in North America, I learned a great deal from this four-hour series, it is actually two parts, and would highly recommend this to anyone interested in the history of the US. In honor of this film, here's an image of a bison in Yellowstone National Park, from this past August. This guy was coming up a hillside along the road, I happened to be stuck in a "bison-jam" sitting in my car but was lucky enough to be in a great location and his eye was framed nicely by the grass. Camera Data: 200mm 1/320 sec F8 ISO800

Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device, and change the background as needed for your OS.

For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straightforward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.
Apple iOS Downloads - click the Mobile Phone link to open the image:
Without 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold on the image, select Save Image
With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image

If anyone has problems or questions with their mobile device, let me know and I will try to assist.
