Tim Lester Images Monthly Update
Why does it seem every month this year we need to say 'hope everyone is safe'? Mother Nature is causing problems all over the world and for those in the United States, the Midwest keeps getting a larger portion than needed - not that anyone needs the problems.
This month we have a couple of images for your viewing pleasure, depending on your point of view. The first image is a landscape image for the nature lovers and the second image is a racing image for the action lovers.
The first image this month was shot in Edwards IL, after a passing storm gives way to a sunset. While I can not control Mother Nature, hopefully this image will provide a glimpse of sunny days ahead. While I am not sure if the Peoria area broke any monthly records, we did see nearly 3 inches of rain in one day - that's a large amount of water in one day! I thought the saying was something like, 'April showers bring May flowers. . . .'.
The second image this month is from the famous Peoria Motorcycle Club TT track. Every year the club organizes a couple of races that are a favorite of the motorcycle racers and fans alike. For those who have never attend a race at the track, it's in a natural terrain bowl which provides great viewing of the complete track. The tracks nickname is Thunder Valley and all race fans need to make sure they attend a race at some point in their life; the racing is always great and fans can get extremely close, if they decide to get right next to the fence.
The spring race will be on June 19th this year, so head on out to the Peoria Motorcycle Club and enjoy some wonderful racing. I will let you in on a little secret, the racing for the June race is the same caliber as the August National event with the same riders and teams racing both but with a much smaller crowd. A large number of teams use the June race as a test for the National. Did I mention the Peoria TT is the longest running dirt track race in the US? The rider in the image is Chris Carr, a 13 time winner at Peoria.
