Can you believe summer is half over and children around the US will be heading back to school in a few weeks. It's been a very busy month and I have been shooting a wide range of topics, including for some new clients. Some of these shoots may be shared in the future, providing the clients allow us to share some images.
Central Illinois is enjoying a nice week of weather, even with some rain the temperatures have been in the 70's - nothing to complain about the last week of July! Hopefully you are doing well in your location.
For the astronomy and physics friends, I was able to photograph the Muon g-2 50-foot-wide electromagnet ring in the Peoria area. The ring was travelling by barge from Long Island NY to Batavi IL, it was the final leg of a 4 week journey. The first image this month is from Mesa Verde National Park near Cortez Colorado. This cliff dwelling is Cliff Palace, one of three dwellings in the park that have guided tours. One word of caution, make sure you purchase your tour tickets early so you can get the optimum time of day for your visit. The trail at the base has been made in modern times, so it's interesting to think how the original inhabitants moved around and created these amazing structures.
The second image this month is from the famous Peoria TT racetrack, the racer is Henry Wiles with 8 consecutive AMA Grand National win's at the track. This years AMA National race will be held on August 11, so pack the family in the car and enjoy some wonderful 2 wheel racing. There will be a Short Track race Friday night at the Peoria Speedway - another location for great 2 wheel action.
