Welcome to fall, for those individuals in the Northern Hemisphere - weather has been a little strange lately around the United States, hopefully the wonderful fall colors stay in your area for some time. Wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to those in Colorado affected by the flooding, hard to imagine some of the roads I was driving on 3 months ago no longer exist. They may not exist for a couple of years, that will be tough for a very large number of people and businesses.

Today marks the 123rd Anniversary of Yosemite National Park, normally I would say get out and visit Yosemite or any of our National Parks and Monuments. But sadly I learned a little while ago that the National Park Service is shutting down all Parks and Monuments due to the Congressional budget deadline. Hope this is a short shutdown and I will spare you with my thoughts on the matter and the state of our political system.

Thanks for all of the positive comments regarding the show at One World, it's now over but hopefully you had a chance to check it out. I have recently updated my sales website with images from the trip out West, you can find those here: http://prints.timlesterimages.com/ Once you reach the site, select Parks and browse 17 National Parks and Monuments, plus a few other locations.

Currently I am in the planning phase of next year's monthly calendars, please help me in providing feedback. Do you like the current format? Do you have any idea's or suggestions for changes? Do you want to see additional sizes for mobile devices? Send me an email, post on my social media sites or tell me in person any comments you may have.

The first image this month is from Zion National Park, looking toward The Streaked Wall and Canyon Junction. Yes, I am setup right in the middle of the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway road to capture this image. The rock and sandstone layers seen in this image are over 146 million years old from the Jurassic Period! I would love if the rocks in Zion NP could talk, the scrapes and scares create wonderful sights while traveling around the park.

The second image this month is from The Great Balloon Race event in Galesburg IL, this was from the night glow on Saturday night. Balloon festivals are wonderful events and the balloon teams are very friendly and always offering information about their equipment. If you have not seen the basket of a hot air balloon, you will be surprised by the size. While the International Balloon Festival in Albuquerque NM (http://www.balloonfiesta.com/) is about to start it's two week long event, most others are over and you will have to wait until next year to visit your nearest festival.

Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens. Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your computer that you can remember and change the background as needed for your OS.
