Tim Lester Images Monthly Update
Just last month when I was sending out the update, we were having a large snow storm in the Midwest - we have another one heading our way again! Most people are ready for Spring to start and have the snow melt away, sorry to say it might be a little longer with a few storms heading east. Every year in February I shoot images for the Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) Silver Cup hockey tournament. While it's difficult to win one championship for a college team, the University of Wisconsin Platteville did the unthinkable by winning the championship two years in a row. Their goalie Andrew Hornick was named the MVP of the tournament for the second straight year. Congrats to everyone involved with the UWP program and good luck at Nationals.
Would like to say thanks to everyone who commented on the images from last month, one common question was about the size of Delicate Arch. The first image this month will help answer that question, it is iconic Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Utah with numerous people. The large group under the arch are getting their 'group photo' taken. The point of view of my image is different than the traditional images, it requires hiking to a ridge that most people don't attempt to explore. To capture an image of Delicate Arch without people is not easy, any photographer who has shot the Arch can attest, but sometimes it helps showing the people to understand the size of the area.
The second image is an American Bald Eagle captured earlier this year along the Mississippi River near Gladstone IL. I truly enjoy spending time with the large concentrations of Bald Eagles along the Mississippi River every winter, you see so many different aged birds but sadly once the weather turns warm and the river starts to thaw, the Eagles head north. If you did not attend a Bald Eagle festival this year, plan on attending one next winter to get up close to one of these wonderful birds.

Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your computer that you can remember and change the background as needed for your OS.
