Tim Lester Images Monthly Update
Can you believe that spring is nearly over and summer is right around the corner, also the year is nearly half over! May was a busy month but included a short road trip for myself to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was nice to escape for a few days and visit some area's that have been wanting to shoot for some time. This month we will give you some hot and cold images, hope you enjoy them.
The first image this month is sunset with the Marquette Harbor Light, located on Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan. This image was captured a few weeks ago and yes that is ice still on the lake. Something that you can not really see is the thin layer of ice forming in the 'open' areas of the lake. The temperature was dropping the night I created this image and the lake was freezing across the surface. It was strange leaving Peoria in shorts, driving into a late spring snow storm, then wearing a winter coat and gloves while shooting pictures in Marquette.
The second image this month is from the wonderful Peoria Motorcycle Club grounds. This image includes a couple of Peoria area riders, Dustin Crow (#61) and Justin Hittle (#81), heading over the TT track jump. You might notice fans are right on the edge of the track, leaning over the fences, it truly is one of kind racing location. Last year a few readers made their first visit to the races and informed me they had a great time, so plan on attending great racing action July 13 and August 17 this year.
