Monthly_Update Message
Spring is upon us, at least in the Midwest, unlike some sections of the West and Northeast United States who most likely feel like winter will never end. Most likely Mother Nature is messing around with us and will bring back winter conditions one more time, not uncommon for March. This time of year is also the start of motorsport events and racing outdoors, we will be hitting the road soon and this year’s calendar is filling quick. We will share more details once everything is finalized.
For readers in North and Central America, Australia and Eastern Asia, on March 3 there is a total lunar eclipse that is centered over the Pacific Ocean. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates and provides me clear skies to capture some images. Unfortunately, I will be too far east as the eclipse progresses, with the eclipse ending after sunrise. Hopefully we can share an image next month, wish me luck!
The first image this month is a good reminder for everyone, including myself, to slow down and take a look around. I was hiking a trail in Larrabee State Park near Bellingham, WA look for interesting tree and moss formations, more detail style images. For some reason, I decided to look up and saw this view and I loved it. It was nothing like I was looking for but something I am very happy that I captured. Camera Data: 16mm 1/60 sec F11 ISO400
Our second image I would title "the one that got away", I was excited to be close enough to this immature Bald Eagle as it dropped down to capture something from the water. Talons out and obviously eye on the prize but unfortunately for both of us, whatever that was in the water must have dived down because the eagle turned away shortly after this image was captured. Maybe we both can have success the nest time. Camera Data: 800mm 1/1600 sec F5.6 ISO2500
Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens, along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, open the required version for your device, right-click on the image or right-click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.
For Mobile devices, most mobile phones require a long press and a menu pop-up will be displayed. Click save then follow the steps for your operating system to set it as your background image.
