February 2019 NewsletterHope everyone is staying warm, the polar vortex that hit the North American continent was quite the artic blast of cold air. In Central Illinois, the temperatures were a roller coaster ride with a high temperature of 61 on January 7 and a low temperature of -20 on January 30 recorded in Peoria. Amazing fact is that neither temperature was a record for the area, but a record was set with a high temperature of -6 on January 30th.The first image is looking over Mississippi River on a cold morning ne ...Continue Reading

January 2019 NewsletterHappy New Year to everyone - be safe and enjoy the celebrations along with some time off. When I created last months newsletter, I started thinking about how much I traveled over the past few years. Most people love to arrive at their destination quickly as possible but as most of you know, I am not like most people. In 2018, I took a few trips for personal photography along with numerous business trips to shoot events for various clients - in total I drove 44k miles and visited 16 states. While I ...Continue Reading

November 2018 NewsletterFirst off, I would like to apologize for the lack of communication over the past few months. While updating my website to comply with new security measures in safe web viewing and to support the latest browsers, I broke a small piece of the website - the newsletter portion. Years ago, middle of 2009, is when I decided to start creating monthly newsletters based on a suggestion of a mentor of mine, Kevin May. So while researching the best way to create newsletters and let people subscribe automati ...Continue Reading

September turned out to be a really long month for myself, thought it was going to be fairly normal and then the month was turned upside down. Started with a few American Flat Track races in Springfield IL and then an opportunity to get out West was presented and off I went. A window opened up and I quickly planned a trip to Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks with couple of weeks on the road. That was followed up with another American Flat Track race day and a couple of other events. All total from Sept ...Continue Reading

Can anyone tell me where July went? Looking back at the month, I was very busy and could have drove from Boston to San Francisco and then to Los Angeles with the miles I drove. Luckily I don't mind a little windshield time and a big portion of those miles was with my wife sitting next to me. The next few months appear to be very busy with a few driving trips planned, you'll have to wait and see where I travel to next. If you have any types of images you would like to see, make sure you send me a message and I will see w ...Continue Reading

We have reached mid-point of the year, while summer officially starting a few weeks ago. For my friends in the USA, we are approaching our countries birthday of July 4th, which marks a national holiday when friends and family get together to grill out, play games and witness firework displays. For those who like numbers, July 1 is the 182nd day of the year (183rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar - there are 183 days remaining until the end of the year. The first image is from last year - Peoria IL's Red, White ...Continue Reading

Remember last month when I said Spring was here - well last weekend we skipped right to Summer! A large number of people will curse me for saying this "Is winter here yet?" - I can deal with cold temperatures easier than hot temperatures but I realize most people are the opposite. The first image is a sort of tribute but more thoughts to those in Hawaii having to experience Mother Nature and the Kilauea volcano. A large number of us can hardly imagine what they are experiencing - hopefully everyone near the f ...Continue Reading

April was an interesting month here in Central Illinois, we had moments of Winter, Spring and Summer! I think we can safely say Spring is here but the last snow fall we experienced a few weeks ago did arrive after the first spring flowers were blooming. The first image is a monument located at Mead Rapids View Park in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on a sunny spring day. The clock and bell in the tower were originally installed in 1892, serving the neighboring village of Grand Rapids until 1957 when the building was demol ...Continue Reading
