Tim Lester Images Monthly Update

August 1st 2011

Hopefully everyone survived the heat wave of July 2011, it seems most of the country had a share. I had a busy month with shooting a few different firework displays for the 4th, the Balloons at the Park festival the following weekend and the Prairie Air Show which was held in very hot conditions on Saturday and raining conditions on Sunday. There were a few other smaller events and shoots, all of which were fun times. Then came the bad times, we lost my father in-law on the night of July 23rd. Richard loved viewing my ...Continue Reading

July 1st 2011

Don't tell the kids, but it's July, summer break is about half over and school will be back in session soon! Most people enjoy the 4th of July even though it can be very hot all around the country, so get out and see some fireworks on the 4th - I know I will be out there with a camera. For those in the Peoria area, July 22-24 is the annual Prairie Air Show, it does not have the flash, boom, bang like the 4th but there are some great views. If you have never attended an air show before, you need to get to one - the pilo ...Continue Reading

Why does it seem every month this year we need to say 'hope everyone is safe'? Mother Nature is causing problems all over the world and for those in the United States, the Midwest keeps getting a larger portion than needed - not that anyone needs the problems. This month we have a couple of images for your viewing pleasure, depending on your point of view. The first image is a landscape image for the nature lovers and the second image is a racing image for the action lovers. The first image this month was shot in Edwa ...Continue Reading

April 30th 2011

First of all I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the Midwest and Southeast, the month of April has not been kind. I have talked with a few friends in Georgia, so anyone that I have not talked with I hope all is well. The month of April has not produced any truly bad storms in Central Illinois, but we have more than our share of rain and clouds. As usual, the Illinois River is well above flood stage and farmers are waiting to get in the fields to plant this years crops. So welcome to the ...Continue Reading

This time of year is not my favorite, I love winter for many reasons but as spring arrives we seem to have more ice and freezing rain than we really need. It makes for great images but travel can get dangerous. One negative reason for me is the Bald Eagles migrate back North, while a positive is the water falls come back to life, the transition from frozen water to liquid water is always fun to record. It can be dangerous, as some area's remain icy until temperatures really warm up and the large sections of ice can fall ...Continue Reading

I must be having fun, since the old saying goes "time fly's when you are having fun". Currently I have some current clients asking for images and working on some projects for new clients. Hopefully I can share some details and/or images soon. The primary image this month is from Yellowstone National Park once again. Like last month's image, this image was actually shot during the fall, with this image being shot in the Norris Geyser Basin area. The secondary image this month is from the Dunlap Illinois area, ...Continue Reading

December 31st 2010

Hope your holidays have been wonderful and welcome to 2011! Can you believe the new year has begun already? With this month I have included some of the changes requested and will be working on others as the year goes on. One item I have included is the display of the of moon phases for the astronomy friends, it's still a work in progress as depending on the image it's a little hard to see, if not impossible, depending on the background image. The biggest change for this year is the option of two(2) images for your desk ...Continue Reading
